LH surge on period?

I'm getting an LH surge on the last day of my period.. is it possible to ovulate this early? I normally have 30 days cycle with 5 day period pretty heavy bleeding for the first three.. but this month my period was a few days late.. spotted very lightly for two days.. then got a heavy day.. and then it slacked off today and is almost over with. I decided to take an opk just in case and got a surge.. confusing.
