Does your MIL try to compete with you?

Sometimes it feels like my MIL is trying to compete with me. Just silly things like.. I make awesome pasty things all the time, so she try's to do better and copy me (she has never use to make pastry things). Or she try's to do heaps for her son when it's stuff I usually do. Maybe she's just over protective, or something. Anyone understand where I'm coming from? My MIL is very passive aggressive and talks behind my back on the phone. But to be fair.. he is her youngest child. So maybe it's just hard for her to let go.
