Daycare Moms

Hi moms! I recent returned to work and my son is going to daycare for 3 half days a week. On his third day he picked up an ear infection (not sure if he got it from daycare but it's irrelevant to my question). I took work off to take care of him and because he was too sick to be at daycare.

I felt awful taking my third and fourth days back at work off, it's not the work ethic him trying to show them I have. What do you do when your little ones are sick? Do you alternate with your husband on who is going to stay home with the baby? Does someone help you? Not sure what to do when this happens again. My work was very understanding but if this continues to happen I imagine it would wear on their patience.
