Should DCF/CPS agents be held responsible for the death of child on one of their cases?

I was watching the Ana Estevez press conference, after hearing her speak about how the DCF workers handled her case,I though to myself well maybe dcf workers should be held responsible as well. So many time we hear of children dying after dcf visits. As if these agents aren't doing their job. 
Should the be held partially responsible for the death of the child on their case?

It really depends IMO. If the CPS worker intentionally gave the kids to unfitting parents then yes.
I don't blame the CPS worker, but a few years ago a father killed his kids and himself in a house explosion he caused after losing custody of his kids (he murdered his wife. He was living with his father too who was charged with child pornography 😡🤢). The CPS worker said she took the kids for a visit and the father let the kids inside but not her. 
Idk who to blame, a judge/the court/CPS, but that father should never had visitation rights. He killed his wife and let his kids live with his pervert father. Someone failed those kids and cost them their lives.

PS. I think mainly courts and the court system fail at protecting kids. In my home state, I know a hardcore drug user that is typically too high to take care of her young child but gets full custody of him since they need evidence of her using aka pictures or video 😡😡
In another state where my friend lives, she has shared custody with her husband though he's an awful and lazy parent. He doesn't care about his son. 😡

The whole system is messed up. I really don't think the case workers should face the brunt of all of those problems. There's a lot more to it than just the case workers, but they are the face of the system kind of as they're out in the field. It's a shitty system with not just one person to blame. I say that with experience of being in the system, and studying it in college.

Eh that's kind of tricky and it really really depends on the situation. There are absolutely instances where they case worker failed to properly do their job and should face consequences for that. Other times, it may unfortunately be unavoidable. There is an incredibly large workload for these people. They need more help. I'd say lack of funding for the resources is more to blame. And again, there are instances where the case worker was in no doubt negligent, but also over working these people creates malfeasance.

That story is so incredibly sad. Side note..it makes me sick that his attorney thinks "Admitting to guilt and spending life in prison" is making things right. 😢

It really is situational. I worked for CPS for years. Like in every job, their are good and bad workers. But there are lots of uncontrollable factors in works CPS reports, including community partners you're required to work with. I'm not familiar with the case you're talking about, but you also cannot believe everything the media puts out. Plus every states CPS rules and regulations are different. In my state, I couldn't just remove a child. Police, doctors, and a DJO are the only ones who can. So I had to rely on them heavily, and fight for what I felt was right. They can easily disagree.

How did the child die? I assume that if they're involved, it's because the parents are abusive or something.. Was it something the agent caused themselves or something the parent caused?

I mean I was given to a women who abused me for 10 year, who apparently was a prostitute....buuuut, no one really cared so as .much as I think they should I know they won't.

It definitely depends sometimes CPS workers really suck. Like my fiancés sons mother for example has two current CPS cases open right now and has had many in the past. They still won't say she's an unfit mother even though these reports are ridiculous and her children need to be taken away 😤 She's literally going to end up killing one or both of them and CPS does nothing.

I think it depends. If they actively see abuse and neglect to do something ethically they should but I don't think they can be charged. But on the other hand they are employees as well they can do their job perfectly but you can't predict when something bad is going to happen. I mean this job Comes with specific rules and laws and all that. You need correct procedures. They can't just go in and grab every child the minute they suspect abuse.
