Is it okay to lose weight during pregnancy?

I'm like super over weight. 280lbs+ I was originally starting to lose weight then found out I was pregnant. Starting off so was 270lbs, but from being sick and eating whatever I could whenever I could I've put weight on. *sigh* Anyways, is it safe to lose weight while pregnant? Will it hurt and/or effect the baby? I do plan on discussing it with my OB at my next appointment, I was just wondering if any other moms have safely lost weight during pregnancy.

I'm fixing to start eating clean, and exercising lightly, but wanted to know what others thought?
