Does it hurt like on tv?

So to all ladys who gave birth...Does it really hurt like in the movies?
Is it really necessary to scream that much and all the stuff that go with it in a movie?
My mama said to me that she gave birth to me for like 15minuts...I was born pretty early,,2months before due time..and had intracranial bleeading and lots of stuff..but regular birth..does it hurt so much? And when you are done and they suture yor vagina...It seems even more scarrying..

ok so first off....not every lady requires sutures, and if you do they give you local anaesthetic. in my opinion screaming is absolutely unnecessary, but that's because i have had 3 easy, fast births. Some ladies feel the need to scream and that's fine too!

Yes it hurts, but during the pushing phase my nurse said not to scream and to focus on pushing. I did have stitches but to be honest I don't really remember much of it.

To me appendicitis & gall stones were more painful, although my labor lasted longer than either of those things, still u get breaks in between contractions so it's not like constant pain, I didn't scream, I quietly moaned thru each contraction until I got the epidural then I was a lot more comfortable, I ended up not being able to push out her head, it was too big for my pelvis so I had an unplanned csection, the incision wasn't really that painful afterwards, the worst thing was the gas & constipation ☹️ but that was all better within a few weeks, now I'm all healed & I have a beautiful 6 month old baby girl so the whole thing was totally worth it :)

It was the worst pain. I was in too much pain to even scream, literally all I could do was lay there and say "crap" over and over again and ask the nurse if the epidural was coming even though I knew it wasn't (that poor nurse I was so scared of how much pain I was in I was just trying to keep her next to me). I had no break between contractions and the epidural never came. I tore in 2 spots, and the doctor had a hard time with the local anesthetic and I could feel all the stitches being done, but that didn't hurt at all compared to giving birth.

We haven't conceived yet, but I tell myself it won't be like tv. My mom didn't have an epidural and said it was fine and one of my friends is pregnant with her third after two natural births. I hope to have a non-medicated birth.

No and now that I've given birth, those types of movies really annoy me cause it's so fake. My epidural wore off the second it was time to push and honestly it wasn't that bad. My baby was 8lb 7oz and super short and square. I could feel him coming down the birth canal and didn't even notice when his head came out, it all just felt like a burning sensation. My baby got stuck at his shoulders and my doctor had to put both hands in me and pull while a nurse pushed on my stomach to get him out and that was the most painful part. I made some noise just because I started having an anxiety attack and was struggling to breathe but not screaming. I had several internal one degree tears and was sore afterwards. But even with all that it's something I would still do again.

For me it was extremely easy and fast. This was my first birth and I loved it. I would do it all over again in a heart beat. For some- it is terrible. It's different for everyone! 😊

Yes, it hurts bad. Probably the worst pain you will ever feel, especially if you're induced and use no pain medication. Some people scream and some people don't. I did, but I also pushed for 2.5 hours and ended up having forceps shoved up my hoohah to deliver my son, who was stuck sideways. I also had been in labor for 68 hours and "active" labor for 12 hours. Every labor is different. For every person who has a fast, easy labor and the baby comes before they even knew what was happening, there is someone who pushes for 3 hours. You could very easily, like my sister, push for 20 minutes or push for 3 hours. Everyone handles it differently and everyone's babies have different ideas on how fast labor should be.
