When to give my son his first haircut? 💈✂

Question

What is an appropriate age to give a boy his 1st haircut w/clippers? Are most of you considering doing it on your son 1st birthday OR do doctors recommend to wait a little past that? I feel so stupid for forgetting to ask my son's pediatrician at his 9 month appointment. I'm currently trying to plan his 1st birthday which he celebrates his 1st birthday on Thanksgiving Day. I'm just a little skeptical about the decision with his hair.

I am thinking of cutting my daughter's hair now actually. Just to even it out. Some parts are longer than others.

I already trimmed with scissors because his sideburns were starting to cover his ears. We're going to be taking him to a barber soon though to have an actual cut because he's starting to get a bit of a mullet haha. We talked about doing it closer to his birthday, but we wanted to give it some time to grow back out in case the barber messes up

I don't think there's any medical bearing on hair cutting. Whenever you want and there's enough hair. Lots of cultures shave babies heads very young.
