Salt and sugar in baby food ?

Question

When you make your LO table food, do you put salt or sugar at all? My son would only eat cooked rice and fruits but nothing else. Should I start putting some salt when I make his food ?

my daughter eats everything we do,  without added anything. however,  if I make... mashed potatoes,  I add salt while I make the whole batch. I don't cook just for her, I cook for everyone.  so whatever we eat, she eats as is cooked. carrots for example,  get salt, after being steamed. so for us we add salt, for her we dont. she eats fruits in the am, as is, nothing addee. lunch as is ( meat- chicken, ham etc, no added anything.)  and dinner- 2 Oz of formula with organic cereal in a bowl with a dash of fruit and her regular bottle. I don't ever add sugar to any foods of hers and she only gets salt if the food I cook gets salt as I cook it. her teeth get brushed after each bottle and solid feeding. she gets sips of water in between solids from sippy cup. she's 23 lbs and 32 inches long.  10.5 months old .

I add a little bit of spices... a little salt pepper lemon... we use a lot of spices.  Not hot but cumin, turmeric, cinnamon,... for example.

Babies shouldn't need added salt or sugar because they don't have long term exposure and shouldn't need the taste.

I sprinkle Himalayan salt and SOMETIMES maple sugar if it's hard for me to eat without which is rare
