Egg retrieval?

does an egg retrieval hurt? what is the process? I don't have to do it yet, but am just curious. hoping my iuis work 🤞🤞

The retrieval itself will be done under anesthesia so you won't be aware, I walked out of the clinic like 1 hr later, however once it starts to wear off, the pain was bad, I couldn't even stand straight, I was also borderline OHSS, so the bloating didn't make easier, the heat pad was a great help, it's just hard to find the right position to feel comfortable and sleep it off, however, the ovaries are amazing and by the next day I would say I was about 60% better, it was easier to move and sleep, it took about a week to be back to normal, but five days after the retrieval I was ready for my fresh transfer, I'm 12 weeks now.

You are under anesthesia for the egg retrieval, so that part doesn't hurt. And when I first woke up I felt fine. However within a few hours it hit me. I felt awful for about five days. I could barely get out of bed for three of those. I had OHSS which was probably a lot of it. But no matter I would definitely recommend planning on taking some time off work and invest in a heating pad.
