Retrieval too early!?!?!?!?!

Due to overstimulation and rising estrogen levels, retrieval has been booked for Monday midday. my scan this morning (Friday) showed 42 follicles from 10-15mm. I'm worried they wont be mature enough enough though it is 3 1/2 days away. Any experiences?????

I was definitely in the same boat. Based on my numbers before my trigger the doc said "we're expecting to retrieve about 7 mature eggs but we'll get as many as we can". They ended up retrieving 31 mature eggs. Don't stress. It may all work out well.

Hi, I can only speak but I heard from my RE. Recent research shows the optimal follicle number prior to retrieval is 10 to 20. Beyond 20 follicles, chance of success from transfer that cycle does any increase any more, but it is offset by the risk of over stimulation.

Your follicles will continue to grow between today and Monday. I sincerely hope you will get tons of matures: keep in mind it all only take 1 high quality blastocyst. Good lucks
