Too soon?

Is 26 weeks too soon to have a baby shower? I wouldn't want to risk the bad weather in December

I think it totally depends on the specific situation, so you should do what feels best for you. 
My first was due on Christmas and I had my shower right before Thanksgiving. I ended up having surprise showers through my work and my husband's work too, but they were closer to when I was due. 
One shower that sticks out in my mind that kind of upset me was one of my distant relatives ended up having her baby super early (due in February, baby came in November) and her family threw her a surprise shower in December (maybe two weeks before Christmas) and only gave the guests a 1 week notice. I ended up not going because I just couldn't make it work with all the holiday commitments and my son's birthday. Plus my preferred baby gift is to make a quilt for the baby, and there is no way I can turn around a well made quilt in a week with 2 young kids at Christmas! So my only advice for having it around the holidays is to make sure you give your guests plenty of notice so they can make your shower a priority and for those people who might like to make you something, they need enough time to be able to make it to last. My aunt made my son a baby quilt and he still uses it today. He will be 6 this December.

I did mine with my daughter about 4-6 weeks ahead so due in March I will prob have a late January-early February shower.

I had mine at 28 weeks with my first due to schedule conflicts and living hours away from family and friends. It was actually the best time because it gave me plenty of time to organize, do returns, and buy everything I didn't get done a few weeks before I was due. It gave me a chance to do it all before I was so exhausted and big that I didn't want to move lol
