Sometimes people in relationships, romantic or platonic, get snippy with each other. It's bound to happen every once and a while. If it becomes consistent and he's making you feel really terrible by the things he says (verbally abusive) then yeah it's time to figure some things out.

He might've ha a bad day and just took it out on you which by no means is okay but it doesn't always mean that something bad is happening and it's not always something to worry about. Yes you should be a little up set but maybe sit down and ask him why he started that argument and what made him feel that way
