Yes it's fine. The most current recommendations regarding potential allergens is that earlier introduction is associated with a decrease in the risk of an allergy. 
Just make sure it's ripe - if it's soft enough for you to smush it between the roof of your mouth and your tongue then its soft enough for baby to eat.

Strawberries are a higher allergy food, so I waited until 9 months just to be on the safe side. If you Google it, there is a list of when to introduce what foods.
