Is it ok to throw your own baby shower?

Ok so here's the thing I just recently moved away from my home state pretty far away from all my friends and family to live with my fiancé but I don't really know anyone down here very well that would ever throw me a baby shower. My partners mother and I dont get along at all and all of our friends are guys so I don't have anyone to do it for me I would love to be able to plan the whole thing on my own but I don't want it to sound tacky or bad that I'm throwing my own shower. I really do want one tho because I'm a young mom and any help would be great and my partner has a huge family and I know they would all come and help out I just want to make sure it's not gonna make me look bad or needy. Any suggestions
