My pit bull started following me EVERYWHERE including the bathroom which he used to be terrified to go in. He'd also sleep with his head on my stomach.

I've read that pets can smell the hormone shift.

I do believe animals can tell. They can smell hormone changes. My cats are not super lovey, don't hang around my fiancé and I usually, and they don't meow or make noise often. We do have one male cat, and very clearly I am his favorite (lol). 
Recently, he has been following me around, laying on my stomach every time I sit down, sleeping next to me in bed, and honestly just following my every move when I'm home. When I lay in bed, he lays on my stomach and purrs. I'm not sure if I'm just crazy, but I think they can tell! I'll be testing in 6 days to know for sure.
