I delivered May 22nd and bled for about 6 weeks. At my postpartum checkup my OBGYN suggested I try the IUD implant. In theory it sounded great but over the period of about a month my body pushed it out and I had to have it removed. After that I ended up opting for a regular oral contraceptive (the pill taken once daily). It's a low hormone pill and I make sure to take it right on time every day. I've been in the pill for about two months now hoping it would regulate my period but both months, I ended up getting my period for about a week before it was due, then it will go away for a couple days, only to come back the final week of my pill pack (when it's actually supposed to happen).

I was wondering if anyone else had had similar issues and how long it took to get back to normal (one period, for about a week, on a normal 28 day cycle). My doctor says it's just breakthrough bleeding and may take a couple months on the pill to get back to normal. It's just frustrating because I want my sex life back, not to mention two weeks of cramps sucks! Lol
