Hey, mamas! I'm 2 weeks 3 days post partum. When I pump, I MAYBE get 1.5 oz from each boob, making 3 oz total. Is this normal? Should I be producing more at this point? If so, what can I do to improve it?

My OB told me to put down the pump until 6-8 weeks once your supply is better established otherwise you may be fighting your LO for food. That being said, that's a really great amount for only being a few weeks PP. If you want to continue to pump, pump for 10 mins after your LO has fed on the breast and that will help teach your breasts to make more! Lactation cookies are also amazing, Pinterest has great recipes.

That's a great supply for 2 weeks postpartum! If you wants to increase it to build a freezer stash, try googling power pumping. Do that once a day and it should help. Also, make sure you're pumping until empty PLUS 5 minutes. This tells your body to make more milk. Are you doing breast compressions/massage while pumping? This was the best way for me to get more milk out. Also drinking LOTS of water helps! I've tried lactation cookies and teas but nothing helped as much as being well hydrated. 
Just be careful because you don't want to create an oversupply that you can't handle. It will make you more prone to clogged ducts and possibly mastitis. As long as you can keep up with pumping/feeding every 3 hours day and night, you'll be fine 😊

Pumps are a really really bad measure of what you're actually producing. They only get maybe 40-60% of milk. So unfortunately you've gotta pump way more than you'd nurse a baby. Try fenugreek, oatmeal lactation cookies, and liquid gold lactation tea. But don't fret. You're not doing it wrong or producing too little.
