Can you buy a car seat too early?

I was with my husband looking at car seats and we ended up getting one because we don't make it to the city too often and I was worried that they wouldn't have the one I really liked in stock the next time we come back. If I'm due mid April was it too soon to buy the car seat?

Just check the expiration date. You want it to last a MINIMUM of 12 months AFTER your due date. 
Sometimes they sit in stock too long and expire too soon

Not at all. With an infant seat you'll only use it for about a year and a half at the most and car seats don't expire until 6-10 year after they're made so your defiantly good. Gives you plenty of time to ready the Manuel and your cars Manuel so you know all that there is to know because it's a lot.

I bought the one for my first early too, I let it outside under cover to breathe for a couple of weeks, washed the cover a few times to great rid of that new plastic smell.

Nope not to early. I'm due April 2nd and my father told us he would buy the car seat and stroller for us so we looked this weekend just to get an idea and fell in love with a set and didn't want it to be gone by the time we really needed it!
