Weight loss surgery/ giving up????

I have been struggling with my weight all my life, many of you girls know what I'm talking about! Once

I got married 5 years ago the weight started to come on, once I had our baby girl (who is 2 now ) I gained so much weight with her. I diet and go off and on with exercise bec I don't ever get the results! I am 5"9 and I weigh 233 ! I want to get gastric bypass surgery or a sleeve of some sort. BUT I have friends that call it cheating and that I'm giving up and taking the easy rout!! Talk about GUILT TRIP !!! What should I do y'all? Anyone had the same experience, I mean it's expensive, it's painful and it's a lot of work! But I still want to do it.
