Not what I was prepared for at all!
The story is too long to write out so I'll do a timeline instead.
9/8-Doctors appointment where I had a membrane sweep. Spotting and slight mucus throughout the day.
9/9- 10 am Hubby and I had intercourse.
12pm-water broke.
1:45- arrived at hospital
5pm-Admitted at 3 cm, no contractions and started on low pitocin.
7-9pm Epidural received. Pitocin increased and dilated to 6.
10pm-Baby is higher in pelvis than last checked and cervix is less dilated. Feeling nauseous then began to black out. Put in oxygen, baby's heart rate drops and I am given a shot to relax uterus. Obgyn mentions c section if Baby doesn't respond well soon.
11:12pm-Doctor decides to move forward with c section to avoid an emergency. I am wheeled into ER to be prepped. Baby's heart rate drops again and it turns into an emergency c section. Things happened so fast no one was able to get my husband into the room.
11:49-Baby is born. We find out that the cord was wrapped around his ankle AND my uterus ruptured.
Almost 1 am-Done being stitched up and wheeled into recovery room where I vomit mucus for five hours.
6am-Finally in my post delivery room and anti nausea meds are working.
Baby was 5 lbs 9 oz born at 39 weeks 4 days. The doctor saved our lives and I will never be the same.
