Membrane sweep?

So I'm 40 weeks today! I had a doctors appointment and he did a membrane sweep. I'm 2cm and 80% effaced. Being that this is my first pregnancy, I have no idea what to expect. Should I lose my plug? Should I have already lost it if he was about to do a membrane sweep?

How long after a membrane sweep did you go into labor if you had to have one as well?

I got a sweep done yesterday at 39 weeks and since then I've lost multiple chunks of my mucus plug (also I think bloody show mixed in with it??) and I've had on and off period cramp pains. I'm being induced tomorrow morning so it doesn't really matter but I definitely think it did something for me. I was 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced so hopefully I'll be a little bit further by the time I get to the hospital in the morning!

I'm 40 +3 FTM also, I lost my mucus plug a week ago today. Had a membrane sweep last Thursday was told 1cm dilated. And tomorrow I have a dr appt. hoping I can get induced 🙏. I think even mom is different 😊

I got one done with my last pregnancy and had my son within 48 hours. I believed I had a bloody show within 24 hours and then things climaxed from there. I just make sure I stayed active, walking, bouncing on a ball, cleaning, anything to keep things moving lol good luck!

Doctor did a sweep on me today at my appointment. I'm 37+6 But baby and myself have been measuring 40+ weeks for a while now. I lost my plug last week and I was 3 cen and 80% effaced at the appointment today. Also been having pre-labor pains and some contractions for almost 2 weeks now. Fingers crossed this works for me!!!🤞🤞🤞

With my first pregnancy I had a membrane sweep at 40+1! I went into labor that night around 2AM and didn't lose my mucus plug and have a bloody show until about 9AM. Hope it works for you mama!
