Is he hiding something?

okay so long story short I have a son from a previous relationship but my so has been raising him since he was 2 months old his dad left ...currently my so and I are ttc for a while now and I said maybe we can get him checked to see if he can have kids and he says " I know I can have kids" and I simply reply how do you know if you don't have any kids of ur own or never tired with anyone else and he just replies "Because i know I can" I feel like I'm missing something or he's hiding something.

he might've gotten someone pregnant in the past who didn't continue the pregnancy, or it might just be bravado. ask him

Maybe he doesn't want to be checked because he's afraid of not being able to, I wouldn't necessarily take this as him hiding something. Guys tend to be more fragile about their masculinity and being told he couldn't make babies would probably effect him so hard.

I would take that to mean there was a miscarriage or an abortion in the past.... I would bring it up again, and maybe suggest he doesn't know until he finds out. Fertility is also not a permanent state for men or women... men have had children and then suffered motility or count issues for various reasons, also there are definitely situations where a girl lies to a guy to guilt him or gain pity... like post break up saying something like "just so you know I was pregnant and had a miscarriage , or "I aborted your baby" .... a girl actually did that to my boyfriend and told him it was twins. Years later she admitted to him she had lied.

Someone may have become pregnant in the past. My fiance has gotten two women pregnant ( before me hahah) but thus far has not been able to get me pregnant. Though he knows he " can " fertilize he is still having tests done regardless. Whether or not your Significant other has or hasn't impregnated someone else. He should still get checked because you are in this together.

I would not assume that he's hiding something based on that. It is probably a pride thing for him. Depending on how long you have been trying there is probably nothing to even worry about. Shouldn't even need to bring up the conversation of getting checked until a year or more of unsuccessful TTC has passed.

My husband was the same way, he said it ran in the family... His parents.got pregnant one try, and other members of his family. But I asked too, it used to bother me like.how do you know.if you've never gotten someone pregnant? Just like I didn't know if I'd get pregnant fast or not because ive never been pregnant. Just ask him straight out

some guys say that because they don't want to be checked in case they hear from the doctor they cant have kids or he could have a kid somewhere with someone just sit down and have a serious talk about it with him
