Missionary stories please!

So I became a Christian two years ago and didn't really follow God but I'm saved and right before I married my husband I rededicated myself to God and really started to follow him. ever since my husband has been deployed I've been getting more involved and feel like I've grown so much spiritually. and also my husband has such a fire for God it's so inspriring. so long story short my husband and I are both feeling called to missions and we want to look into it some more because we try to see if that's where God is leading us. so some stories and tips would be appreciated and please don't leave out the bad parts too we want to know exactly what we're getting into! thanks in advance.
