Baby shower planning help!

So I'm planning on doing my shower the end of October and I'm due the end of February. Do you guys think it's way to early to do it? It's just because I don't want to bother people during the holidays so I'd rather do it before. And it's at night outside so January would be too cold. What do y'all think? And how early do you send out the invitations!?
