So we live in a rental and we have a side by side refrigerator, land lord provided so I have no idea the age or model. I know it's old by looking at it.

A week ago it started to smell really badly like a dead mouse or rotten meat. I took everything remotely questionable and tossed it out of the refrigerator and the freezer side. I have cleaned it too to bottom twice and the clean smell only lasts maybe a day, if that, and then the smell is back.

We have searched for drip trays and filters and can't find any. We have pulled it out and lifted it up and there is no dead mouse. What could it be??? Anybody's man work with appliances to give me a clue? I don't want to call the land lord and sound like a lunatic. Granted he knows us but this is one of their newer rentals and they have already dumped a chunk of change into it so I don't wanna call him to find out it's something silly I could fix.
