Period and ectopic pregnancy?

Is it possible to have a tubal pregnancy and still get your period?
*I'm not pregnant, I just want to know. Because I have an IUD (mirena) and I'm not supposed to get my period, but sometimes I do, and it's very light. So how could I know if I had a tubal pregnancy?

My best friend had one. She was in A LOT of pain and she found out at the hospital that she was pregnant. They did an ultrasound to see if that's what it was because she was only having pain on one side.

you would have severe excruciating pain. it's a true medical emergency. you'd know something was wrong.
