Parents only: do you think someone without kids should say anything about parenting a kid?

This is jumping off another post but most people responding don't have children.

There is no such thing as a perfect parent, we all make mistakes BUT... I'm not going to go into my mechanics shop and start telling him how to repair the vehicles. I won't walk into an OR and tell a surgeon how to operate. Unless you've actually EXPERIENCED Parenthood, I don't think it's any of your business.

I have 7 children and was a sitter for years beforehand. I STILL do not offer advice or opinions unless I'm SPECIFICALLY ASKED such as in this app. People honestly need to learn to mind their own business. Just saying...

No but if they are child care people or work with kids in some way they may have decent insight as an outsider looking in

Yes if they're knowledgeable in that area. But judgmental type "suggestions" are unwelcome especially when it comes from someone without kids.

Can an oncologist only give advice if the person has had cancer?
Can a therapist only treat bipolar patients if they themselves are bipolar?
Can only women support women's rights?  Men aren't allowed to speak up for women?
Newsflash- everyone can give advice and have an opinion.  Especially if you're in the internet asking for (wait for it) opinions.
I will especially speak up when it comes to things that harm children like drinking and drugs during pregnancy and spanking.
Ejecting a child from your body doesn't mean you are the expert on childhood development .

You'll be surprised with the amount of parents who actually ask someone in the childcare field things.. so I disagree with this thread🙄 I'm expecting a child but before I would also give out my opinion if I felt it was needed🤔
