When doc makes you feel stupid🙄

So all of yesterday I barely felt the baby move. Today I'm 27+4 days. I waited until night time because that's when he moves the most and nothin. Nothing really this morning either and I drank decaf coffee with sugar. So it freaked me out and my mom freaked me out because she said why did you wait so long?! Initially, i just called to for a phone consultation with a nurse but I felt like I should've went in. Long story short, the doc seemed annoyed that I came in. She said "what did they tell you to look for with movements" and she said "because I can clearly see evidence of the baby moving (through the monitor)" and she said "well I'm just gonna let you go after this but now you have to sit here for 20 minutes". I would have rather went in and let them tell me I'm fine than to sit at home and freak myself out over it. Maybe I'm not educated enough on it or whatever but this is my first pregnancy and first child ever. She made me feel stupid. Has this happened to anyone? Or something similar? I'm so annoyed.

Don't ever let your dr make you feel like you're stupid for coming in. Especially over movements. Lack of movements can indicate so much and you know your body and baby best. Honestly I'd probably switch drs after that. Don't ever hesitate to go in if you feel like something isn't right or seems off, much better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your baby

First, is it possible to switch doctors? Second, get the Pregnancy Encyclopedia. It has everything you need to know about your body and your baby from conception to breast feeding. While I agree it's our responsibility as mothers-to-be to do our own reading and research in regard to our pregnancies, this doctor doesn't seem very good because she's not even trying to provide you with the tools you need. If she really cared, she would have told you to count kicks twice a day a few minutes after you eat when the baby is most active. Once you get to 10, stop. Count rolls as one movement. If you don't get 10 in two hours, go to the doctor. Laying on your side gets them moving, or drink cold water or juice. Good luck to you 😊

Um that's not right of her, my baby stopped moving because he ran out of room and if a baby stops moving early the placenta could have problems or anything. It's better to go in for nothing than sit at home and possibly lose your baby. You know what your baby is doing. Don't worry about her attitude if you think something is wrong go in!

Don't let your doctor make you feel bad for taking precautions. My doctor told me that if didn't feel at least 20 kicks/movements in a 2 -4 hour period that I should call them. You may consider switching to a new doctor before you get any further along because there are doctors out their who will understand that your a first time mom and you want to make sure you are doing everything you can to make sure that your baby is ok.

with my last 2 pregnancies I went in just to make sure. I had non stress tests done with both just for peace of mind. there is absolutely nothing wrong with making sure everything is OK. better to be safe then sorry..

I had no movement days until 30-32 weeks because baby is so tiny you only feel their big movements. However your dr should never make you feel stupid for being concerned, it's not like you go in every few days and she's like 'enough already'.

my nurse and OB tell me every visit if I have ANY questions to call. like the smallest dumbest things, she said don't hesitate. that's their JOB. lol. sounds like she's overbooked herself. which sucks. I got very lucky with my OB. I hope everything works out for you.

Certain hospitals especially big ones will make you feel stupid like you should just know I was going to a big hospital with my son I was 37w and my belly was hard and wouldn't go away so next day it was still hard so I didn't wanna be sent home I went to a closer smaller hospital and turned out I was in labor and I delivered at the small hospital .
