baby #2 at 6 months pp. was it a good idea?

I'm 32 and our first just turned 6 mos. we want 3 and I want them before I hit the 35 mark (extra tests at more risk to baby). we're ready for #2. but I'm worried about 2 things....(assuming it doesn't take forever to get pregnant this time lol)

1. will my son get to really be a "big brother"? with such a small age difference?

2. will I miss out on his growth by being pregnant and sick/slow again?

stories, positive AND negative, are VERY welcome. I need real advice. not puppies and flowers :)
