When did everyone officially announce their pregnancy?

I'm currently 12 weeks and can't wait to tell the world. However my partner thinks that we should wait until we are 16+ weeks to announce!! I'm not even sure why he wants to wait so long.

We told our parents after the 8 week appointment and ultrasound, then after the 12 week appointment where we heard the heartbeat we started telling close family. Once our close family all knew then we posted on fb. I think it was around 14 weeks by then.

We tell family and close friends when we get 2nd heartbeat confirmation around 10 weeks. Everyone else we wait until the anatomy scan.
