Yeah but you don't have kids; you don't have kids so you wouldn't understand...

Ma

These are phrases I *loathed* before I had a baby.

Example: I completed my masters degree; responses I got: well you don't have kids so it's easy - umm how about congrats?

Example: (id been a labor and delivery RN x 11 years before I had a baby); I'd tell my patients (if they asked) that I recommended an epidural ; coworker response: you wouldn't know - you've never experienced it - well you don't have to be hit by an 18 wheeler to know it hurts like hell...

Basically most of my achievements or dealings with patients were invalidated because "you don't have kids - that's easy; or you've never experienced it - how would you know?"

Just want all the moms to be, childless (by choice or infertility), women who haven't decided it's right for them yet, etc : I am PROUD of you for your accomplishments!! Also your suggestions/advice is welcome here.

*steps off soapbox 😂
