My babe is now 10 days old. We had planned to just breast feed, but babies suck reflex is farther back her palate and she had trouble sucking at first. She does not have a tongue tie, and we now have trained her to suck.. and now the last few days she has been latching. Our lactation consultant has told us to supplement each feed with formula. I was hoping to only be breast feeding by now, but baby will suck for a half hour on each breast, and then still be so hungry and upset that she will scream until I give her the bottle. I also pump and feed her that, but because feedings take so long we have decided to just pump in the morning for my own sanity. Every two hours was just too much, but now my milk has come in. I am wondering if any other moms are breast and bottle feeding and feel guilty they aren't solely breast feeding?
