Should people under 18 be allowed to use Monq products?

Question

If you don't know, Monq is a pen (looks like an e-cig) that lets you 'breathe' (there is no smoke, only a small amount of water vapor) in an essential oil. They have one that helps with anxiety, one that helps with sleep, and many other uses. They're supposed to be all natural and not contain any harmful ingredients. 
I was talking to my therapist about natural ways to help with anxiety and she suggested this. I'm only 17, and while it isn't illegal for me to USE one, I can't buy one and the company discourages minors from using them. 
I was discussing this with my parents, and my mom is completely okay with it. My dad, on the other hand, thinks it's too close to smoking and isn't okay with it. 
So, what do you think? Is it encouraging minors to smoke? Should it be legal for minors to buy and use these?

I'm pretty sure on the website it just says they don't want people under the smoking age doing it only because people might think your underage smoking and breaking the law when really it's not actual smoke it says something along those lines

I think it's totally fine. Doing the motion of smoking isn't going to lead to a kid smoking. My sister and I used to walk to the drug store and buy fake bubblegum cigarettes ALL the time. We thought it was fun to act like we had cigarettes. But both of us knew the dangers of smoking so we never even touched a real cigarette. 
I know they still make those bubblegum cigarettes. If kids - KIDS - can buy those even though they look like cigarettes and are filled with all kinds of sugars and weird shit you can't pronounce, then certainly a 17 year old can buy an all natural diffuser on the go to help with anxiety and other problems.

it's literally a eo diffuser but hand held they are harmless eo are safer than smelling perfumes and it has nothing harmful in it

personally i say no because i do think it encourages children to smoke . and what’s stopping you from loading it with nicotine ? it’s essentially a vape pen and you could put anything in there . if you want the effects of essential oil vapor then you can just use a diffuser . i have one in every room in my house loaded with different oils . this isn’t the one i have i just googled it really quick .

If it's suggested by your therapist and it's being "monitored" in that sense, I'd think that's a valid exception. In general I do think they should be 18+

My aunt makes and sells essential oil diffuser necklaces. Her's are similar to this one pictured.

I would not be comfortable with something that from a distance could be mistaken for a cigarette. I would choose to wear a beautiful piece of jewelry instead. 😉

My only concern would be if it had nicotine or anothe addicting substance. If not then I don't see a problem.

I just don't understand why someone can't use a regular diffuser? I looked at the prices of these things and they seem pretty expensive?

I really don't believe we have enough research about this stuff at all. Essential oils aren't default safe just because they're natural. I'm fine with the company not selling to minors.
