Elopement or small wedding?

My SO and I are torn between eloping and just having a small wedding with 40-50 people (family and a couple close friends) and I was wondering what your thoughts are on both of them ♡

Due to finances my fiancé and I are doing a small wedding with just immediate family. We plan on getting married maybe at the court or hiring a justice of the peace to marry us then we plan on renting out a private room at a restaurant for dinner. Im absolutely fine with it and so is he. No need to stress over planning and money & why go into your marriage in debt (thats how I look at it), and we plan on splurging on a nice honeymoon 🤗

I’m torn in between as well! I’ve seen places where you can elope with 28 guests and it’s about $600. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have a huuuuuggeee family. I don’t find the heart to exclude so many people on my happy day. I want to spend it with everyone I love! 😭

We are doing a small wedding just because I felt like we both really wanted that experience. If price is the biggest factor set a strict budget cause it can still easily balloon. I’ve had moments where I wished we’d eloped- but mainly due to stress from others opinions of what we should do. 
Id recommend to keep it simple if you do go small wedding, try getting food from restaurant that caters, so a brunch/morning wedding or Sunday/weekday to keep costs even lower if you can. Finding a venue  that lets you bring your own stuff can help too- like alcohol which is a huge cost saver if you want that at your wedding.
