Not your baby- back up!!

Ugh I went shopping yesterday and had my one year old in the cart. Im already paranoid with all the horror stories of people taking babies right out of the shopping cart. Anyways I was reaching in a deep freezer, while holding my LOs hand and I look back up and some woman was backing away from my daughter saying she's so cute. Why do people gotta be so creepy. The ladies cart is halfway down the isle so not sure who waits until the parents back is turned to come close and greet a baby? I don't know you, back up. Maybe I'm paranoid but makes me extremely uncomfortable.
