Anyone else did a pre-conception check up?

We've just started TTC and I read some research which recommended arranging a pre-conception check up but when I called up, the receptionist basically made me sound like I was crazy. Said that there's no need for a check up unless I was having problem conceiving.
Did any of you ladies have a pre conception check up??

I did, and recommend it to my friends. I have one friend who had one and found out her hormones were all screwy and was able to correct it with medication and went on to have a successful pregnancy. I can only imagine how much time she would have spent just trying had she not gone to the dr.

Yes. My Doctors office recommends it. They also gave me a prescription to get some labs done to make sure I had proper immunizations before conceiving.
