So I just need to vent/brag a little. First a little back story lol I am 26 weeks with my second child. My son is currently 8 his dad is a real POS and has nothing to do with him. My SO is wonderful and treats him like his own. We have been together for almost 5 years now. In Dec we found out we were expecting. Unfortunately in Jan we found out the baby had stopped developing. In April we found out we were pregnant again. We were so excited. Fast forward to now we know we are having a little boy naming him Colton. This is my SOs first biological child. His family is very excited. However my father in law has been very sick. There has been a lot going on so I took it upon myself to start planning my baby shower. I wanted everyone's in put and wanted them to be a part of it. My SIL and MIL have pretty much taken over at this point. So much that i am just ready to have my baby shower and get it over with as I don't feel like it's about me. Today my MIL came over and was talking about ordering the bedding my SO and I had picked out as a shower gift. I was very excited. Showed it to her and we were taking about it. This set we had picked out when we found out we were expecting so we have been set on it for close to 6 months now. Well my MIL notices it doesn't come with the bumpers. (Please do not lecture me on how unsafe these are I am aware of the risks) she says something about finding another bed set that includes the bumpers. Now I have kept my mouth shut about all the baby shower stuff but at this point i had had enough. So I say to her listen I love you and I am happy if you want to order that bed set but if you don't want to pay for it because it doesn't have the bumpers then I will order it myself. We are very heart set on that bedding and have been this whole time I am not changing it. GOD it felt so good to politely put my foot down and my SO was just grinning the whole time. He supports me 100% and is also not budging on the bed set. I could tell it made her a little mad but IDGAF 😊 sorry had to share my small triumph lol thanks for listening
