Does he miss me ? Need advice !!

I apologize in advance for how long this is. So I know it's weird of me to ask a question only my ex would know but he avoids the questions a lot and sends mixed signals. So I'm going to be 19 in two months, my ex is 20 going on 21 in 6 months and we've known each other since my freshman year of high school and we were together for two years and three months. He initially broke it off almost five months ago and we've kept in contact. When we first broke up of course it still felt like we were together and then it became unhealthy and we stared fighting and arguing and being extremely disrespectful to each other till now. Lately I've just been laying off for the past two weeks, I don't take the initiative to talk to him first or anything and I just let him be. Lately he's been face timing me randomly and asking about how I am and how he can't wait to see me again to hang out (I've been 1000 miles away for two months now) and recently he face timed me and asked me if I saw the movie IT because he wants to see it with me. Said he misses me annoying him, he doesn't have anyone that bothers him anymore or cares enough to be annoying. Just now he face timed me because he was using my Netflix and said that it reminded him of me and wanted to know what I was up to so he called me, we spoke and he was being a little cocky, saying how he post pictures on Instagram and gets so many comments now etc, of course I didn't play into it, not that I really care anyways and so he was laying down and asking if I could stay on the phone with him while he sleeps because he feels safe knowing that I'm there and he wishes that he could fall asleep and wake up and have me there with him, now keep in mind he's said so many hurtful things, he's said we'd never ever get back together, he'd rather be impressing a Nikki Minaj, he loves being single etc. I don't know what to make of this whole situation. I don't know how to react to it. What do I do ???
