JOB ADVICE PLEASE

Hi! I know that this app isn't really for job advice, but I need some. I'm 17 and I work for a local small business in my town. I have been at this job for roughly a year and a half.

Recently, we've hired a new kid that is homeschooled, and very vindictive towards other people. He is also extremely lazy and can't seem to comprehend the simple tasks that come with the job.

The past 2 weeks, the store owners were out of town and when they came back, nothing that needed to be done was done and they were all things that this new kid was responsible for. I went in to work yesterday (new kid was off) and I got the brunt for everything he didn't do. I had to fix everything he did wrong and do all the tasks he didn't do. The business owner then started to make me feel guilty for not making the new kid keep up with his tasks.

I am by no means a manager, or person of seniority in this business, Im just a cashier. I feel like it was unfair for me to 1.) have to clean up his mistakes and 2.) made to feel guilty for things he did wrong.

This has all lead me to consider applying to other jobs because I don't want to be around this. Can someone please give me some insight on what would be my best option here? I'm really lost and confused on what I should do. Anything helps, thanks.
