how long after delivery did you go back to work?

Im a freelance photographer and while I'm not yet pregnant, I'm just trying to plan ahead as much as possible since I don't get any sort of paid maternity leave. At what point did you stop working leading up to labor?  How long after the birth of your baby were you back at work?  Was you delivery natural or C-Section??  I know everyone's experience and recovery are totally different, but I'm looking to get some general input from a variety of circumstances.  Thank you girls!

I worked until I went into labor. I had a vaginal delivery and honestly I missed the heck out of work the first couple weeks. Maybe because I work from home so being in the house during the work day and not working was totally weird, and maybe because having a baby changes EVERYTHING and I just wanted something normal. I work at a desk so physically I could’ve worked, but mentally with all the hormones and emotions it would’ve been a very bad idea for the first 2-3 weeks, I would’ve had a breakdown at the first difficult task or first criticism. After the first couple weeks and baby and I started getting into a groove I didn’t miss work anymore and I dreaded going back. I took 12 weeks of leave. I wish I had more time with my baby but at the same time I was starting to miss adult interaction and flexing my brain with work problems.

I worked up until I went into labor. actually I was just generally feeling very awful one night, called in, and went into labor at 12am that night so it was a good call. I had a vaginal delivery but had 2 tears. I probably could have gone back to work at 6w. but waited till 8w. and I didn't want to go back because I just have this huge urge to stay home with my baby. but that's just me!

I'm run a dance studio and teach 90% of classes myself. This meant not only no maternity leave, but if I'm not in class, my bills don't get paid. 
I worked Monday, my water broke Tuesday morning so I didn't go to work that day. I delivered my daughter vaginally with a second degree tear on Wednesday afternoon, got out of hospital 7pm Friday night and went to work 10am Saturday morning 😂

I had 20 weeks off work and I had a c-section.. 4 of those weeks were before the baby was born.. I work at a big hospital.. some was paid with my sick time, vacation and some was paid through the state the rest was unpaid leave

I’m a full time blogger and photographer. I was back to my blog work while in the hospital. I was so bored there hahaha I gave birth in May and ended up taking the summer off from photography just because we had a ton going on. We moved and my husband was super busy at work and then he had foot surgery. It was just easier not to work lol but if we hadn’t been so busy I absolutely would have been back within a month of delivering. But I just got back to my photography last month 😊

I stopped working the week before my due date, then I took 5 months of maternity leave once the baby was born. I had an emergency c-section. I'm pregnant again and I'm not sure how much time I will be able to take this time.

I'm a teacher and I worked until the last day of school (6/8/2017). I had my daughter the very next day in the evening. I'm taking 5 months maternity leave (actually she'll be 3 days shy of 5 months old).

I went off the day I went into labor and I am still off 9 months later. We get paid unemployment for 12 months here. I plan to go back pregnant.

I worked until 39+5 which was a Friday and gave birth at 40 weeks exactly that Sunday! I don't get paid either so I'm going back after 5 weeks which is 3 weeks from now :( I had a natural delivery and I'm at 16 days postpartum now and feeling pretty much back to myself! Still bleeding but not too heavily!
