Doesn’t this car seat look huge?

This car seat says it’s for kids from 22-50lbs. My daughter weighed at 22 lbs 3 months ago but this car seat still looks huge. Doesn’t it? The head rest is as far down as it goes and doesn’t come off. What do y’all think??

This looks like a booster seat. She needs to be in a rear facing convertible seat.

She likely does not meet the height requirements of the seat. As others suggested I think you need a convertible rear facing seat still.

This particular seat has a very difficult seat belt installation if you read the manual. It is also not recommended for children under two. A convertible car seat would keep baby safely rear facing until age 2, at which point you would be able to turn the seat forward if you would like, and continue using the same seat. There are many convertible seats within the same price range as that one.

That doesn't look right. Id either return to the store or just use it later. Has she outgrown her current seat? I'd keep her rear facing if at all possible. I know it doesn't look safe when their legs are longer than the car seat but it's a lot safer than forward facing because forward facing has more impact on their spines.

I'm not pregnant and don't have a child but my mom has always told me if you are in sure what type of car seat to put your child in bring the one you have down to the police station along with your child and ask for there assistance most of them will know and will help that's what they always did for my mom and my older sister.

I'd take it back. This seat isn't appropriate for her age. She needs to be rear facing until at least age two in a convertible carseat. Try the Graco Extend 2 Fit or Graco 4Ever.  Make sure her straps are at or below her shoulders when rear facing too! Her straps can only be above the shoulder when forward facing.
