How many of you had your spouse there for the experience of birth?

My husband and I are having our first baby, and he just got orders for deployment that will make it that he will miss our babies birth. I know it happens, I know it's unavoidable, I knew it could happen to us. I'm simply looking for, how often have the rest of you ladies experienced this? & Seeking that I'm not alone in this...

My husband was supposed to deploy about a month before our first born was due. They ended up letting him stay back because it was his first born. He was in the Army.

Mine was there for the birth but they wanted to send him to ntc about 2 wks after the birth and with a back injury. I ended up having a bunch of complications so he stayed behind.
