I’m a first time mom and today at my 38 week prenatal appointment I asked for a cervix check because I haven’t had one at all yet during my pregnancy and my OB said I was only a finger tip dilated. So I’m assuming that’s 1Cm dilated. My question is I’m in dilated does that mean my cervix is already completely effaced? Or do you dilate then efface? I’m so confused how it works. I’m being induced next weekend at 39 weeks but I still want to know what all this means.
