Was life better before or after technology?

I'm talking more specifically phones and computers/internet
I walk everyday past a school right after school is over and there are NO kids playing... when I was growing up we were always outside and played until supper time...I'm not saying the cause is solely technology but I think that's part of it.
How has life changed from your grandparents childhood to yours and your child's childhood?
Is technology to blame for these changes?

I personally think life is better, but parents need to teach their kids a limit. Growing up, my mom let me watch TV at night but from when I got home from school, until sundown, I was outside or doing something productive.

I’d wager more of that (kids not outside after school) has to do with the amount of activities kids are in, and less to do with technology. Also your kid has to go straight home, because if they stay on the playground, someone might call family services on you for neglecting them.

No, and seeing as most of my parents, grand and great grandparents loved better quality of life and communication with loved ones, I would think technology has improved lives.

Life is better with technology. Idk where you live, but I always see kids outside playing. I think people greatly exaggerate that sort of thing. I grew up with computers and still loved to go outside and run around.

Technology has made my life a lot better. 
I can keep in contact with my partner who lives four hours away really easily. One of our favorite activities to do together when we are away from each other is play video games. 
I also need social media as an artist. Having my own website and having easy access to apps where I can upload my work from my phone is necessary.

Before. I'm too paranoid for the modern world.
Saying that, I wouldn't swap it for my grandparents childhoods either. I'm not keen on how technology has aided the progression of media. Though it's helpful to have access to world news, there's far too much crap being thrown around. News that isn't news but is consuming minds anyway. I think that and pointless tv is affecting the kids more than the technology itself.
I'm choosy, though. I don't like smartphones, etc. But I think the advancement of the gaming industry is one to be forever proud of. It's given me arthritis, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Because of my anxiety disorder, I can’t always vocalize my wants and needs. Technology gives me a way to speak up.

Better:> after my parent's divorce my dad could really make our weekends with him special and new. He got us old old laptops and let us play World of Warcraft and Vangaurd with him☺️. They're some of my fondest memories. 
My two sisters and I used to take turns pressing the space bar to make him jump while he played🤦🏻‍♂️. He would message his guild to let them know his girls were playing and all 70+ would just go nuts telling us hello and calling us cute☺️. We'd respond to a couple and each time they would later be telling dad about how polite we were in chat. There were quite a few married couples that let their kids get on and talk/play with us too!
I'm now an avid gamer as it's a great way to unwind and exchange with other people! I can't turn into a giant owl IRL so it's definitely better. Its simply important to teach responsible consumption of electronics. All things in moderation (unless it's a dad weekend. Then go ham)
