Too long of a period...

I know this is a bit TMI. This is a serious "whyyyyy?!?!" situation. I have been on a almost 3 month long period now with only one week of spotting and 4 days of spotting as somewhat of a break randomly during it. What in the world could cause this? Has anyone else had this kind of an issue before?
