Nipples discolored

In June I had a beautiful baby boy, but unfortunately, I was never able to get him to latch to my breast. I have been exclusively pumping for 4 months now. Back in late July, I noticed that my nipples were becoming discolored. They went from a darkish color to almost completely white/pink. It's as if my pigmentation is completely gone. My doctor put me on some thrush medication but I honestly don't think it's thrush. I didn't breast feed and I don't have a yeast infection. I can't seem to find anything else online about this. Has this happened to anyone else? Will my nipples go back to normal? They kind of freak me out. Thank you for the help!!
