Lactation products, when to start ???

I'm currently 20 weeks. My mom suggested I should look into, when I should start taking lactation products/ medication.

Low supply is not common. Mom thinking she has low supply is more common. If you are feeding on demand you should have no need to take anything. By taking a supplement you are telling your body it needs to make more milk. Making more milk than what baby needs can cause an oversupply, clogged ducts and mastitis.
Look into taking a breastfeeding class and meeting with your local Le Leche League. You can attend the meetings now.

There's absolutely no reason to start taking anything for lactation at this stage, or ever really unless you suffer issues with supply.
It can take your milk 72 hours after birth to come in as all your baby needs in the beginning is a very small amount of colostrum. Their stomachs are only the size of a marble to a grape for the first few days.
Don't over think any of it. It is a natural thing and there is nothing to worry about at all until you face an issue. Enjoy your pregnancy and look forward to breastfeeding, it is such a special thing!

While there's nothing wrong with educating yourself on lactation there's nothing to take for it yet. Chances are you won't even need a supplement. As someone else said baby gets colostrum first then your milk comes in a few days after baby is born.
