Would you throw your own baby shower?

Would you throw your own baby shower for your first child if no one had offered to throw one for you?

My in laws who I live closest to never offer to throw anything until I say I'm doing it myself and have it all planned.. then my SIL mostly chews me out saying I can't do that..and I told her well I didn't see you jumping up to do it, so it's all done now. Then she's all butt hurt. It's just easier to do it myself then deal with her.

Im doing mines bcus i live 1300miles away from fam & all mycustomers & friends want to go to it..Im not soo close wit no one out here yet only been here 2 1/2years

Am I the only one who thinks planning your own baby shower is super weird? 🤔 Not trying to be rude to those who have, but I just see it as odd to be a grown adult throwing yourself a party to get gifts.
