Me, Mom and The Wedding Dress

Kristen

I'd like to ask Eve members their opinions. I'm soon to be engaged and like most girls who are to be wed you figure out what kind of dress it is that you would love to see yourself in. I decided early on that I wanted a beautiful princess ball gown with sparkle and beautiful detailing. Through this I have shared with my mom what kind of dress that i would like to wear and what it should look like. I want to add that I'm not opposed to trying anything different. I'm okay with some lace and I'm okay if there's none. I can apply that in the veil if there isn't any. Luckily I came across a dress that had the shape and fullness that i was looking for but not the wow factor. It could serve as inspiration though. I work with a lady that works as a bridal consultant part time and she told me that she has the perfect dress in mind for me. she was able to show me what it looked like. this dress was everything I imagined....but my mom didn't like it ☹. I discussed it later with her and she said that she didn't like it because it looked like it would be heavy...im the one wearing it. i explained to her it was more beading than it was like crystals and stuff. she told me whatever and began to act all snooty over it. I did throw in there that i am the one paying for all of my dress. i want to be able to enjoy this process with her and us not but heads over things like this. I would appreciate anyone's experiences and how you and your mother over came the differences of preferences of a wedding dress.
