Giving birth at home??

Hi ladies!! So I have a serious question for y'all, is it a bad Idea to have a midwife and to give birth at home? I'm kind of thinking about it because I am absolutely TERRIFIED of hospitals, needles, and EVERYTHING that has to even do with hospitals. I feel like I would be so much more comfortable at home and I want to have a natural birth anyways. For those of you who have given birth at home, would you recommend it? And those of you who go to the hospital, do you have anything that would make me feel better about going? My fear is for real and I have terrible anxiety lol

I have done both. I prefer being at home over being at a hospital. Be prepared for a lot of ignorant comments lol. As long as you are low risk do it up. Just know it will be an out of pocket expense, insurance will cover a midwife but rarely does it cover a home birth. Another option is a free standing birthing center ☺. I looooved my homebirths and my midwives came prepared for an emergency and they transfer accordingly. I had a small hemorrhage after my 4th baby (2nd one at home) and we took care of it. I was very close to being transferred but we got the bleeding under control with nipple stimulation and some herbs. They also have pitocin they can use incase of excess bleeding. Google homebirth midwife in your area and you should pull some  up

I say do where you will be most comfortable. my experience, I was a low risk pregnancy. I went over until 42w and had to be induced. didn't know until after baby was vaginally delivered and placenta out, that I had placenta accreta. placenta grew into my uterine wall, and partially into the muscle. if I delivered at home, I wouldn't have gotten to the hospital in time before I bled out. I missed my babies golden hour. and having tubes in uncomfortable places for three days sucked and helpless. you never know what's going to happen and how fast things can change in status.

Do what you feel comfortable with. I felt comfortable knowing medical intervention could happen if needed and I was already at the hospital. Your child your choice.

If you don't have a risk that requires medical attention then go for it!

That might feel more comfortable but imagine if something would go wrong? You would be asking for needles and doctors and all the scary stuff, just to save you or your baby. Midwifes can't always replace a full medical team and hospital equipment. That's why hospitals offer tubs for childbirth, anything just to make you be in an immediate proximity to help. 
There are a lot of comments like - I did it 3 times in a barn and we're ok. Cool, but the 4th might not go as well, do you want to take that risk?
